Its kind of like a "Big Brother" dictatorship. If you have read 1984, its a jacked up version of that. The people are given strict rules to follow, like an early curfew. The corrupt are the law makers and the innocent are the ones paying the price. The character "V" changes the mind of Natalie Portman, by devising a kidnapping pretending its the evil government. Through this she is challenged by isolation and daily harassment. In the end it was just a test to never lose her spirit. That way she would always be free. In the end, the Dictator is killed by V and V also dies, but not before passing on his teachings of freedom to N. Portman.

The action picture has a competent premise, solid performing (enjoyed Portman and Weaving), direction and solid suspense, yet i presumed it went for too long and have been given slightly puzzling with the virus component. It had some subplots in the direction of the tip which i did no longer like.

uhh, hard to explain. There is a guy in a mask who thinks that the government is evil, which in this movie it is, and has this whole thing for revenge to what they did to him, so he, with the help of a girl named Evey, try to blow up parliment, but end up falling in love. It all takes place in the future too.

It's a very good movie,
about revenge on the government and it's leaders, based on past history.

The government is very controlling, so V is a terrorist who inspires the people to take control.
"People should not be afraid of their governments, governments should be afraid of its people" is a quote that pretty much sums up the movie.

Yeah - I didn't really get it either - and I wasn't drunk. I saw no point. I saw a potential for a point, but one never made itself known.
