I just got a ring and i want to know how to figure out how much is worth when it comes to the quality of the diamondswith the clearity size and all that. I want to know a dollar value. Any website that would have some kind of chart or something?

You will have to take it to jeweler and not someplace like in the mall either. Don't go to Whitehall or Jared (I don't even know if they do that sort of thing).

The jeweler has to look at it through a jewelers loop (a special magnifying glass) and see if there are any imperfections, and the color. This is impossible for someone not trained to notice unless it's a REALLY bad ring. There is no way a website could possibly tell you what the dollar value is of *your* ring.

You might be thinking about bluenile.com which is a website where you can build and buy a diamond ring by picking out the cut, weight, color, clarity, etc...of the stone and setting.

Also be prepared to pay for a jeweler's appraisal of your ring - it is not a free service.

You need to have it appraised to find the carret, cut, clarity and colour (letter).
Then you can determine the $ amount that it is worth.

you would have to have it appraised, but really, don't worry about it, be glad you have it...if this is for insurance purposes, have your insurance person appraise it
