Is there any help that I hadn't thought of that will prevent my daughter and I from becoming homeless. I have become disabled and unable to work, and have unfortunately have sought out the assistance of the welfare system until my disabilty comes through, and have fallen behind in rent due to this fact. I have been turned down for help through hud and the welfare system will not approve me for shelter assistance because of the little money I am receiving from them cannot keep the rent paid. I do not have family to turn to for assistance. I cannot not get a loan anywhere and I have searched the web looking for some sort of help but with no luck. I am looking for advice on where to look for help in my situation, maybe there is something that I haven't thought of that maybe you will. I am not looking for a handout just a point in the right direction.

if you have no family and no friends to turn to for a place to lay your head, then you need to try some local churches.

Lordy, but I can sympathize with you. Never is a good time to be on the street anymore.
Perhaps if you were to locate an "Ombudsman" who's local, he might be able to steer you in some positive direction. I'd try calling County offices(Clerk)and explain briefly what your plight is. It's unconscienable to think emergencies like these can slip through the cracks! I believe in making a lot of noise (if you know what I mean...try a local newspaper with your story...or a local TV station.
I wish you good luck and courage aplenty.

Yes as stated above I would try some local churches. Also since you have access to the internet you should try some online work. With these sites you don't make much, but if you could refer a lot of people being home all day it could really add up! Good luck!

Go to the local Catholic Church and ask for assistance - they help many people out of temporary situations in dire need and it doesn't matter if you're Catholic or not. You can be an aetheist - it simply does not matter - there is help out there

I'm not in the US so don't know how it works over there.

Sorry I don't have an answer for you - just wanted to wish you all the best and hope it works out for the two of you.
