I was told yu could use an microphone inside the Ipod. Where would I find it? Thanks.

Not as they come. You'll need to buy something like the iTalk.

I had one and was disappointed in the quality...it picked up voices but mostly ambient noise : ( If you're hoping to record lectures like in school, a voice recorder would be better.

You were misinformed. iPods don't have any built-in microphones. There are ones you can get as accessories that plug in through the dock connector and record onto the hard drive. If you were to buy one of those, an option would appear to use it.
