My girlfriend saw TLITW, and she loathed it. She said it was the worst movie EVER.
I haven't seen it yet, but I want to. I feel ambivalent about M. Night Shyamalan's movies. The first ones were splendid, but when I saw THE VILLAGE for the first time, I was madder than Norman Bates on smackpipe.
Actually, the first time I saw THE VILLAGE, I was abysmally disappointed. But after seeing it a few more times, it kind of grew on me. So now, I sort of like THE VILLAGE.
What say you, Stinky-poo? : )

I literally just watched this movie, and I really liked it. I really enjoy Night's work. His stories have depth, yet also a childlike quality that really entrances me.

i refused to see Lady in the Water because I was just as dissapointed as you were about The Village. I love M. Night and I have high hopes for him as a director...but I think he has been thinking too much about the twist and less about the plot! The Village was aweful! But I think he has a great eye for imagery and cinematography- and I still have hope that he will come out with a winner. Everyone I know who watched lady in the water said it was the most aweful movie they ever watched. I was at Blockbuster last night and nobody had even taken a copy! Tha's sad!

I really enjoyed the village.. it was interesting and a nice movie to watch with plenty of suprises
The LITW on the other doesn't meet up to any of his other movies he has made.. You had to follow the story closely to get what was going on and the characters could've been better.. A better setting would have been better for this movie a hotel or motel is really boring for a movie.. anyway I'm in the middle of liking and disliking it.. certain things I liked certain things I didn't.. still maybe his next movie will be a little better than this one :)

The movie in general was different. Its not your typical Shymalan movie where there is a big surprise at the end. A little bit of a switch, but nothing huge. Also, you have to remember, this is based off of a bedtime story he tells his kids, and it was written for his kids. So its not any more scary than harry potter.
If you go into it with an open mind, and not thinking its going to be another one of his movies, you should come out of it, at the very least, being entertained.

M. Night Shyamalan's Sixth Sense and Unbreakable are amazing movies.
If you thought The Village sucked, you are just going to explode from anger when you see The Lady in the Water.
Still, like me, you know your curiosity may get the best of you. May the force be with you! Don't watch this one.

The majority of people I've talked to have hated it, but I actually enjoyed it. Paul Giamatti is an amazing actor and I love M. Night Shyamalan. It's certainly not the best of his work, but I feel people judged it to harshly. Give it a shot.

Sucked bigtime. Didn't even get the happy ending that was telegraphed and telegraphed.
I am not getting those two hours of my life back... nor those seven dollars.
I am very very disappointed.
On the same day, I saw My Super Ex-Girlfriend. My Super Ex was a much better movie.

I liked Lady in the Water, but then I like Shyamalan's movies. If you like Shyamalan, then it can't hurt to watch the movie and decide if you like it.

I hated it. It didn't work for me in any way.
I really thought the 6th sense was great. Unbreakable and the village were pretty good.
This was by far his worst movie in my estimate.

Ok. The reason why I din't like the village was the ending... No supernatural. All his movies has it. So when TLITW came out, I was skeptical. I was wrong. I loved it. The acting is great and the story is excellent. And yes, supernatural is back. Don't rent it, just buy it.
