With so many higher educational institutions within the city of Seattle it is an outstanding place to live for a student!
The University District (or "U-District") alone is a hot bed of student-related businesses, nightlife, events and culture. The University of Washington has a stunning campus, as do Seattle Pacific University and Seattle University. The downtown is dynamic and easy to access. The entire city consists of unique, stand-apart neighborhoods that have their own history, identity and culture.
The cost of living is a little high, but that is offset by the wide range of housing available to those in school.
For opportunities for students Seattle ranks up there with Chicago and Boston.
I think it is well worth it to pursue a higher education in Seattle. Best of luck -- I hope you find yourself in the Emerald City come the Fall term!

If you have to pay the "out of state" fees - the cost would be prohibitive.
I suggest you choose a University in California where you get reduced fees because you area California Resident. If money were no object - I would choose Stamford.
