I have been told by a friend that they have found a new yahoo account signed in on their computer that they didn't create. Does anyone know if that is possible to do?

OK, obviously the first part of your question is yes, anybody can get a Yahoo account without truly identifying themselves.

The second part, a Yahoo account being signed in on your computer can only be done by somebody who has access to your computer. Hackers often do gain access to peoples computers and then use them for their own purposes. They could even surf the web and sign onto a Yahoo account if they wanted.

If you suspect a hacker has gained access to your computer, the first things to do are first do thorough virus and spyware scans. Then make sure that your Internet connection is sufficiently secured.

YES! They do it all of the time. In fact, even thoguh I have a yahoo account- it is for fun. my buisness work is done under a different email and I would never buy or sell anythign to a person who had a yahoo email. After all, they had free email when no one else did. Scary...but true.
