Beware! Beware!

No reputable agent or modeling company will make you pay for them to represent you.

You should not be paying to go on auditions, either.

There are many, many, many shady modeling agencies that will hand out a business card to an attractive person (usually a young woman) and ask them to come in for an interview. When you get there, they will say "Where is your portfolio?" When you say you don't have one, they act all disappointed, then offer to "help you out" by having their photographer take your pictures for a fee (usually ridiculously high). Then of course, they just shove those pictures in the file with everybody else and ignore them.

I would suggest that you find a reputable photographer who is not associated with an agency and have him or her take some good head shots and full body shots (not nudes) and use them for auditions and casting calls. That way you can be sure that you're just paying for good pictures, not for the agency's scam.

As for true casting calls for theater, film, or tv . . . you should NEVER pay. If they ask you to pay, it's a scam.

well, i don't remember the exact website too, but i'm also looking into acting, but i found some good ones by going typing in specifics audtions, channels, and jobs in search engines such as yahoo and dogpile.com..break a leg...and don't be quick 2 give them the money...there are sick mother cluckers out there that will try to rip you off when you are the hardworking and deserving one...if this is what you really want to persue...then stay focued on it and the right time will come

If they really think that you have what it takes then they will not ask you for any money. They make their money off of commision when you get jobs through them. Check the newspapers for open calls concerning the auditions.

You can get a good idea of what's coming up by logging onto www.actorsequity.org, and going to Casting Call. There are several choices there that will allow you to browse.
