about a girl who becomes pregnant, and I need some help because I've never been pregnant before. I want to know how I can express her emotions- how she's feeling, what happens when you're pregnant. And how hard it is to take care of a newborn. So please answer if you've actually been pregnant before.

I also need to know things like how many months it takes to find out what gender the baby is, what happens at the check ups, how much weight you normally gain in, say, a week, when the baby usually begins to kick etc.

One morning can we call her Susan? She wakes and rushes to the bath room sick on her stomach. There is not doubt in her mind that she has caught that awful virus that has been going around. Why had she made the mistake of going out with her friends a couple of months ago. Susan had never even had a drink before in her life and if her parents ever found out then she would be toast for sure. Nothing had gone right since then. "Susan felt that her nerves were a total reck just thinking about it. To wind up in bed with that boy-oh he was nice enough to be sure especially when he found out that this had been her first time. She remembered having some pain and then the bleading for several days. For some reason she must have had some kind of kidney infection after that and it hurt like the dickens. Her mom called to her "are you o.k. Susan" Jenny Susan's mom knew her daughter had not been feeling well and had been to the doctor. The doctor found out the truth and set Susan down and gave her a lecture that she knew she would never forget. He was kind so when she broke out in tears he told her " everything is going to be fine you just have a slight infection". "Did you use any protection Susan' please tell me that you did." "No -No i don't think so Dr. Raye. Besides I have been taught that i should abstain from such behavior. Oh please don't tell mom or she will just hate me for sure." "This is not pleasant to talk about Susan and i would not preform this any way, but if you find out that you are pregnant you can have an abortion. You can decide for yourself" "I could not kill it if the baby is in there but i am sure it won't happen this being the first time and the bleeding and all." I understand and i appreciate how brave you are Susan. Many girls won't take the responsibility for their actions. If you notice changes in your body come in to see me in a couple of months. I will make a point of seeing you-Now take care of yourself and take this vitamin prescription. Susan you can always consider adoption." Dr. Raye patted her on the back and kindly spoke to her, "come see me if you need to and i will see you get the proper care and refer your to a Ob-Gyn who will look after you right away. I want you back here in two months girl and i mean it." Thank you doctor-this pain has been rough. Does it always happen this way. "No only sometimes but it does happen." You should be fine and Susan eat right. See you later" "Give these papers to the receptionistl on the way out." Oh my God-what am i going to do now. My appointment-when is it. Looking at her personal calendar Susan let out a sigh-today. Great I just have time for a shower and for Mom to got on to work. Oh the warm shower felt so good. Susan shampooed her hair and used her conditioner. "By Susan if you are sure you are o.k. i am going on to work" "Sure mom i am fine." While she was sudding down with her Dove soap she realized that her breast looked fuller and the nipples looked different some how. They were sore and acking to Properably because she had not had her period since-well since that night. Her clothes were a little tight just around her waist. I have been eating to good. Well atleast i am skinny so no one noticed. Better wear my jumper and blouse. I'll grab something to eat later on. Sh brushed her teeth to get out that awful taste. A quick drying of her hair and brushing and the make up and-"Oh well girl you look fine-don't be silly you never have your period right anyway." She saw her answering machine blinking. " Just a call to remind Susan of her appointment. She was not goin to worry about anything today she would do what she wanted. Maybe get a new pair of jeans or two. Susan grabbed her keys and purse and off she went out the door to see Dr Raye. "Susan I need to examine you and the nurse will be in here the whole time. We are going to take your blood to. " Get undressed" "The nurse will be in to help you" Nurse Lanny came right in "I am here to help you dear. have you noticed any changes? " Well yes i think i have a virus or something and i am not having my period right. I getting thick in my waist. Nothing is going right --I even feel nervious and out of sorts" " I will be right here with you and everything will be alright. Stop crying lets get those clothes off. Your bra and panties to dear. Those to! Yes you will have to have an internal examination". " But i am Better" "Come on now yoiu have to be checked out" We will put your legs up in the straps so you can be examined." " Again." "Yes now the gown ties in the back-here let me help you."(This is a part for you to tell how her Dr. Raye sets up an appointment with her Od-Gyn Lets her know that he is convinced that she is expecting) All about this appointment and how every thing goes. He tells her when to be expecting to have not one but two babys-atleast that seems to be what the ultra sound shows. She looks at the ultra sound and watches the movement and feels both happy and quiet sad. " You need to go home and talk to your parents Susan." Come back-----. Eat good and you may want to start shopping for some maternity clothes fairly soon." "I --I was thinking about shopping today" Susan walks slowly outside and has to sit there for about 15 minutes before going to eat a bite and do some shopping. (you can imagine how it would be for her to tell her parents about what she just discovered and how long it takes her to tell someone. Maybe it is when someone hears her crying-like her brother or twin sister. Sarah didn't know anything about what had happened 2 months before because she was out on a proper date. She had been too busy to notice much with her new boyfriend!-----Enought the breast get fuller and sore and near the nipples get darker and there are little bumps all around the nipple. Susan has to go twice to buy a larger bra. Sarah trys to be nice to her as well as her brother but she feels a new distance between. Her mother and father take the news much better then Susan ever dreamed that they would. She gets very large and her tummy gets ver tight feeling and she no longer feels pretty. Then she happens to accidently run into the person who was the babys dad. You decide how all this turns out. She has to have a C-section to delivery the twins. She keeps the twin boys and their father brings her flowers after they are born. They have some problems with their different faith but decide to ----------------.

The emotions about the pregnancy would depend on her situation. Is she happily married? Is she a single teen? Does she want to be pregnant? They can range from being ecstatic and excited to being depressed, confused and scared. Depends on the situation.

They can determine the sex as early as 16 weeks now. She might feel the baby move as early as 16 weeks, though with first time moms, it's usually later, like 18 weeks or so. At the first checkup, they do a pelvic exam to see how big the uterus is, give you a prescription for prenatal vitamins, tell you not to smoke or change the cat litter, take a thorough health history and they do routine bloodwork. At every visit, they check your urine for protein and glucose (to screen for preeclampsia and gestational diabetes), they do a weight (normal weight gain is 20-30 lbs.). After 12 weeks, they listen to the baby's heartbeat with a doppler. At 28 weeks, you do the glucose screening to check for gestation diabetes, and if your blood type is negative, you get a shot of Rhogam. All along the way, they talk about preterm labor, discomforts of pregnancy (like nausea, carpal tunnel, constipation, hemorrhoids, ligament pain, etc.) and about other things to watch out for, like bleeding and the water breaking.

You visit the doctor once a month until 36 weeks, then every week. High risk pregnancies require more frequent visits.

Towards the end, most women are excited and nervous. It's fun to shop for all those tiny baby things, and you look forward to seeing what the baby looks like and holding him/her in your arms. Plus, I would've done anything to take that pregnant belly off and rest, even for just a few minutes. It's exhausting! Getting the baby out of your body, though, can be a scary and overwhelming thing.

Thoughs of sadness, happiness and worries..When pregnant your hormones go out of whack and u start to realize wow im going to be a mother and my life is going to change (for the best of course) but at the same time u worry about the pregnancy going ok,the baby being born healthy, and actually being a mommy. As time goes by though u start getting more excited from the thought of the time coming closer and closer...when your pregnant,u hurt emotionally and physically,u gain weight, feel those first movements that turn into big kicks and shoves, which is the best! It is not hard to take care of a newborn, just make sure the baby is fed, changed, clean, healthy and most importantly loved...waking up at all hours of the night is not hard, its called being a mother and with a few months that all stops when your baby sleeps through the night...Babies are recious and the best thing that ever happened to me!

Just imagine PMS at it's worst for 9 months. There is a roller coaster of emotions that accomany pregnancy. Even if you plan the pregnancy, you may feel like you are not sure you want the baby. You get angry and irritated and cry at the littlest things.
Also, taking care of a newborn is very tedious. You hardly get any sleep; but you love your baby more than anything in the world. Watching them grow and develop is awesome! Hope this helps a little.
