My best friend and I are having a fight right now and it's lasted for a month and a half. It's completely my fault. What should I do to get her to understand how sorry I am for screwing up our friendship? This is the first fight we've had in three years and it's one of the worst I've ever been in. Help please!!! I don't want to screw up anymore. I want the friendship back....I want my best friend back.

Despite what people blieve, its not as easy as saying sorry. Sit her down and have a heart-to-heart talk, explaining that you dont want to fight with her anymore, and you understand that its completely your fault. DO NOT MENTION ANYTHING THAT COULD MAKE HER ANGRY. Suck up a bit. good luck, hun!

did you already tell her you're sorry? If you have, then tell her when she is in a good mood. And tell her why you are sorry and ask her for forgivness. example: "look, I know that you are mad at me for doing ______, and I understand now that it was very wrong. I want to tell you that I am sorry and I will try to be a better friend to you. I will understand if you don't forgive me or if you dont fully forgive me." and wait for a reply.

Hope that helps you.

I'm wondering what you think you did to screw up your relationship, and whether it merited such a response from her. Really, all you can do is apologize and if she doesn't respond, move on to new friends.

Only thing you can do is apologize. Its up to her to accept that and reconcile with you if she wants to put herself out there to be hurt again. Sometime hurts cannot be forgiven. The wound can be too deep to forgive.
