I am sure when I was young that there was some madman (French?) who used to eat cars, bikes. Any ideas who he was and where I can find out more?

yeh he was french and he was called mange tout -eat all- because he ate everything including metal items, tyres, bicycles and lots of other wierd stuff. lol try and get the guiness book of world records 2005 it has a lot on him. i don't hav it at hand but when i find it i will add more to my answer

I know the guy you mean - he used to eat nuts & bolts, too. I saw him on Guiness Records, or Don't Try This at Home, but I don't know his name.
