Protein! This is a sign that you are having some form of protein in your urine, most commonly albumin. Consider getting this checked out as it may indicate a problem with your kidneys or your metabolic state. It can be a reflection of a benign process like a renal cyst, or a pathogenic one such as renal stones, hypertension or an autoimmune disease, or it can reflect a metabolic condition such as obesity, diabetes, or allergic hypersensitivity reaction. If it it only a trace of albumin, this is normal after a certain age, but if it is a lot of protein, then this is definitely abnormal and needs further evaluation

Bubbles to soften the splashdown

After "syphoning the python" into a loo full of domestos, I discovered that it foamed up and significantly reduced both noise and splashing. Eureka!
A cistern block that contains a foaming agent as well as bleach would do the trick nicely. Every time you flush, it would be replenished.

The foam would only be produced when pee is present. The water in the loo would start off clear and un-foamy.

Would perhaps cushion no. 2's on the way down as well.
