Feminism has been vilified to try and get rid of it. Feminism has an important role today. If feels like we're moving backwards. Here in Scotland you should see how some of the teenagers and women behave around men and how they let men treat them. Feminism shouldn't have to exist because there shouldn't be gender issues! But women are still paid less then men. Men are still chosen over women for jobs and promotions. Women still get beaten up by husbands and are still expected to be the primary care giver to children!
And last but not least....prostitution hasn't been legalised. It could provide these women with a safe working environment free of pimps and violence...but our 'morals' are more important than the prostitutes' safety!

Tough call, it's all gone a bit Pete Tong in the last couple of decades. The only type of feminism that I can think of that is actually trying to do anything at all are the women's groups that are campaigning for equal pay for women and more women in top jobs. Apparently we're in some kind of hideous post-feminist era which means women can go around acting likes sluts and trying to out drink men!! I think that's a load of old tosh though. Feminism is dead and I think someone could do with reviving it.

Usually not what feminism was intended to achieve or should be proud to achieve. Too much of the time, feminism manifests itself in the home with better men. Bitter (to varying extents) women often don't feel empowered or patient enough to truly improve their standing in society, so they manifest their feminism by mistreating their (nice) man in the home. The jerks they should mistreat won't put up with it.

right here interior the west i've got self assurance feminism is valid in persons yet I see no want for it in an academic or political lobbying experience. helpful if women in springing up international places want equivalent footing then they have each and every remarkable to pursue a process equality yet i'm hoping they study from us and don't make the comparable errors that have been made interior the west. I additionally don't think we've any employer forcing our values on them as returned and returned western impact has on no account been greeted with open hands in those international locations so they could desire to seek for equality their own way and on their own freed from western meddling which as historic previous has proved on no account helped.

It is after when males explore their feminity, they will find what is the role of feminism in modern society. So are females.
The most modern and free thinking woman is not a feminist. Its all about sexual equality.

It may not be quite dead, but its role has greatly diminished simply through its success in improving the lot of women in pretty well every walk of life - although only in "Western" culture. It still has an enormous mountain to climb elsewhere (no names, no pack-drill!).

the same as it's always been, the promotion of women as equals....inequalities still exist, to an extent they can never change due to the physical make up of women and men, however, what western women have achieved as far as liberating women from the home, is being eroded by the influx of other cultures where women are still seen as subordonate to men, and think its 'us' who are in the wrong.

For me, its independence. Not relying on a man to bring in all the cash while I stay home and play mumsy.
