oh, honey you are only 14....i did not start my period until i was 17 years old. you still have plenty of time. and believe me when you do get your period, you'll wish you didn't. having a period is a pain in the butt.
there is nothing abnormal about you. actually you are one of the lucky ones.....after i had started mine, i wished for it to go away

when you finally do start your period there are little indications 1st. like you'll feel a little crampy and may have a headache. you may be very irritable and may cry very easily.
and when you 1st start, blood DOES NOT come gushing out....so you need to relax on that one.==when i started mine, my mom had just brought me home from the orthodontist...we were both in the same bathroom....she was combing her hair and i was going potty and happened to notice a small amout of blood on my panties. so i said, " MOM!! come here, look at this!!" and she started to cry and said now that i was finally a woman. well, i think she was being just a little dramatic....but at the same time it is a big moment in a girls life and i'll never forget it. and by the way, i'll just bet that at least one of your friends is lying just so she will fit in........don't let them tease you. you can come right back with saying i'd rather not have the inconvenience

of having a period. good luck

At your age you should feel cramping before you start. Cramps take place in different places for different people. I have always gotten cramps in my lower back area, which isn't so much cramps as a tense pain. My sister gets cramps in her lower stucmoch around her ovaries that will drop her to the ground. Either way, before your first period you will most likely be able to tell a difference in how you feel. Also, if you start getting really moody or testy, then it's a good chance your getting close. I will yell at my husband for no reason about 2 days before I start, it never fails. So I know when I find myslef all moody that I will be starting in the next few days! Best advice, keep a tampon or a pad handy. And I would definately say keep a pad and not just a tampon, because if it's your first period, a tampon can be difficult for some people! Relax, it will come when it's time to! And you have years worth of them coming your way, don't rush it!

No not that much comes out for you to bleed all over chairs as long as you get up as soon as you feel it and go to the bathroom though the walk there might be uncomfortable.make sure you have pads in your purse. and dont wear white pants! You might even have a feeling your going to start, listen to your body and wear a pad that day just in case. you really will be fine!

You can always take precautions to prevent embarrassment. Keep a little emergency kit in your purse or backpack,or your locker.Have some pads ,and a few baby wipes or something similar, and even a clean pair of panties. Normal onset of your period, usually doesn't begin with "gushing "blood running down your legs or dripping from a chair.Stop stressing, calm down, congrat's you're becoming a women!! Just try to prepare yourself,it will be OK. SW RNP

Everyone is different. Some women don't get their period until they are 18 and some as early as 8 or 9. Don't worry over it, because the stress will cause delays in that as well. Trust me, the longer you go without it the better and as soon as you get on your cycle you'll realize how worrying about it was so silly.

You will be fine. I always keep a pad or tampon with me just in case. You will know when it is starting. I get some cramps before I start and then I know to expect it. You'll be all right. No worries.

14 is still young for you to start your period
if you do start at school i doubt you will be very heavy as its your first one so i wouldn't worry about bleeding everywhere you will notice when yo are about to start as cramps headaches tiredness maybe even moody but live it while you haven't started yet! when you do start you wish you'd hadn't :)
