if a version without the bluray was made, when is the closest time it would come out? like what year... also what is the best guess to what the price would be?

All the PS3 games are put on blu-ray discs, so every PS3 needs a blu-ray drive simply to play the games.

Though if they had gone without the mandatory blu-ray drive to begin with (putting the games on another disc format) the PS3 would likely have cost the same as the 360.

Hello There,

PS3 uum.... I have alot of information for you.

No1. Sony would not create the PS3 without the Blueray, as this is its main feature and it would not be out any sooner than its set date which was due to the system malfunction.

Sony have stolen alot of its ideas from other game console designers and have taken their ideas. The only good thing to come of the PS3 is its graphic capabilities, but graphics are not what make a games console.

PS3 are so cheap they haven't even installed a rumble pack into the controller which means theres no effects with game play. The console itself is a fashion icon.

WARNING DO NOT BUY SONY MERCHANDISE!! LOW STANDARDS!! HIGH PRICES!!

The Sony PS3 is going to sell for around £400-500 and maybe more, the actual statistics show that the Nintendo WII has sold the most consoles over the BOX 360 and the PS3 since its been on the market in the UK. If you want a games console worth its value then purchase an XBOX360 or a Nintendo WII.

These both grantee you the fun and entertainment of a lifetime.

Sorry to let your hopes down on the PS3 and thank you for reading

the only way that could be done is if they had a recall of all of the games out now because all of the games out now require the bluray in order to be read by the system.none of the disks out now can be read by anything other than a bluray drive.mabe if a cheaper drive that can read bluray disks was created the price could come down.

what the hell are you talking about? They already release the PS3 in the United States. The one with blue-ray costs about $800 dollars and the one without blue costs around $600- $700.

There will not be a PS3 without a Blu-ray player because ALL PS3 games are on Blu-ray disks, so a Blu-ray player will be needed.

they will not make a version without the blu-ray, it is about more them movies, its about the ability to fit 10 times the data/graphics/levels/video/gameplay on 1 disc. a DVD holds 5 gb and a blu-ray holds 50gb.

i doubt one will. the games are on bluray for the sake of HD and capacity to fit all the game info.

i dont think they will make a non-blu-ray edition because that is mainly what the PS3 is boasting about
