I read it in school, and i saw a advertisement for the movie, and it looks like it is completely different from the book. When will Walt Disney stop raping classics. Like "disney's Doug". Whats up with that? Just because they bought it, doesnt mean they should call it theirs.

Im glad to see some other people agree with me. Bridge to terabithia is about the friendship of Jesse and Leslie. Its not some story about wizardry and magic like the trailer seems to imply.

I agree with you. Bridge was such a touching book because of its simplicity and the gentle tale of friendship, love, and discovery. Disney has made it into a bastardized piece of special effects action drivel.

I agree with you. Bridge to Terabithia is a beautiful book about friendship and loss. The movie as shown by the trailers is a cheap attempt to cash in on the current interest in fantasy fueled by Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. The sad part is there are so many other fantasy books that could be made into great movies if they tried. Disney has been raping classics since Snow White; they're not going to stop. But the reason they call the tv show "Disney's Doug" is to make sure you know it's not the same show. That's a good thing and may even have been done at the original artist's request.

Even though movies are sometimes different from the books, the movies can also inspire some to read the classic. It makes great discussion in the classroom. It is also great to compare and contrast the book and the movie. It is a great foundation for the persuasive essay "which did you like better and why".

Yeah, I remember it. We read it in fifth grade. I was quite fond of it mostly because the boy's name is Jesse Oliver Aarons (Oy... why do I still remember that?) and my first name is Aaron, and the girl's name is Leslie Burke (Again, why?) and the last name of the girl that I had a wicked crush on was Burke. So I thought the book was destiny. She moved away. Oh well.

Though I don't remember many other details, I do remember the ending. And nothing in the trailer looked even vaguely familiar.
