I have a 2001 Honda Civic with 38,000 miles on it. I have had the car for a year and a half and it has been a great and reliable car. I just took the car in for an oil change and tire rotation today and the people there said that when they performed the pre-service oil check, my oil was a half quart low. Now I know that it isn't much, but what does that mean? Is my car still a good car and is there anything that I should do or what? Any advice would help...thanks.

well, it's hard to say. i would be surprised if a car this new with this few miles on it was consuming this much oil...but with all the problems you mentioned in your other questions, who knows. As long as the car is running fine, i would just add oil as needed. Good luck.

Yea your cars still good. Probably nothing is wrong. Wheres the last time you change your oil? They probably put a half quart less or they forgot to start your car and put an extra half quart of oil in so the oil filter could fill up. But if your cars not smoking then you dont have a problem. And hears a good tip. check your oil after about 300 miles and if the oil is still clearish brown that means your probably not burning oil. And if for some reason you are burning oil your oil would be pretty black.

No there is nothing wrong with your car. Make sure whoever you are taking it too to do the maintenance knows how much the car takes in oil. Honda cars usually take 5 quarts. Hondas usually can go over the 3000 mile mark with out burning oil, so it shouldn't be burning oil.

It is not abnormal for a Honda to use up to a quart between (scheduled) oil changes you have nothing to worry about.

appears like you may have a blown head gasket and that i doesn't reccommend continuing to force it till you've had the water pump replaced, and get your motorcar inspected. You oil is searching darkish? at the same time as become the purely appropriate time you had your oil replace. Beside putting your engine in threat through no longer replacing the water pump (now to not indicate your head gasket and radiator) you may double the threat for your engine through no longer replacing the oil on regularly happening durations.
