Hello everyone. I am in my 6th week of pregnancy and I am feeling some sharp pains on my one side. They are not constant but they come and go. I have an appt. on Thursday with the doctor but I am wondering at what stage would a tubal (ectopic) pregnancy become known to the individual. If any of you have ever had one what exactly does it feel like? I've asked a similar question before but becuase it hasn't gone away totally I am a little worried. I do not have nausea, i am a little dizzy but that is all.

Thanks. Serious answers please!

I guess I should add that I have never had an STD and have had regular pap tests and exams on a yearly basis.

When I was pregnat, I had some sharp pains in my tummy. I even spotted 2 times (very lightly). I was soooo worried! In fact, I was totally paranoid throughout my entire pregnany. I found out that the pains were normal and my baby was fine. If it is severe sharp long lasting pains then I would be worried. My doctor told me that if it's ectpoic, you know! Little sharp pains here and there seemed to be normal in my pregnancy, and I gave birth to a perfectly healthy beautiful baby girl. So don't worry too much (stress can cause misscairrage), your body is just reacting to this foreign object. Best of luck to you and your new baby! Please keep us updated!

You may just be feeling the ligaments stretch. That is normal. Signs of an Ectopic pregnancy include: Sharp pain in the abdomen, brown spotting, fever, severe dizziness, and sometimes pain near the shoulder.

I have had one.The only symptom I had was spotting. Your body has a baby inside and it is probally just going through growing pains. Your body is stretching and preparing.

Congrats !! Keep us updated :-)

I believe if it is eptopic you would be seriously hurting or not alive by now. It is serious and You should go to a emergency room if you are concerned.
