Things don't get heavier or lighter just because you smash them. -- unless something sticks to them (or goes inside them) or falls off.

Well, if the can weighs 12oz it will weigh 12 ozs crushed, however, if this 12oz can contains something "liquid/solid" after being sealed another few problems exist. Smashed, how much pressure to smash, containers content and weight. etc.,etc.

The physical properties of aluminum (namely density) do not change when the can is compressed. Therefore, a can that is intact will weigh the same as one that has been crushed.
