I know navy and black are typically a fashion no-no, but what is your opinion on my fiance wearing navy and light blue striped tie and his groomsmen in alternating navy or light blue ties?

It is an outdoor wedding in June.

Also, 3 are wearing the light blue ties, and my flowers are blue and green hygrangeas.

I think you should do whatever you want to do.
In this day & age, there really is nothing that is off limits fashion-wise.

Congrats on the wedding!

I have been a wedding planner for the past 5 years and would advise against too many blues. I understand that it is an outdoor wedding but is it at a formal location?
Navy is not a real traditional wedding color for groomsmen usually outdoor wedding are in white or black. But depending on your location you may be able to play with some shades. Please let me know so that I can advise you better.

I don't think the black shirts will look good if your bridesmaids are wearing dark blue dresses. I'd go for khaki and white and not have your husband in a tux...it will look strange next to the casual groomsmen. He should wear the same as the groomsmen.

First of all, congratulations on getting married.. you must be so excited!

I think that the ties would look great, but the only thing im thinking about is if the navy blue would go good in June- a summer month. Its completely up to you. If you think it would be good GO FOR IT!!

Good luck and have a great time in your marriage!

I think that there should be another color in the tie, not all navy blue....it would look just a little off....too close to black, besides, it wouldn't show navy blue in the pictures.

P.S. get some black and white pics taken, good luck :)

As a fashion ignorant man, I say give the groom the contrasting tie, and the groomsmen ties that match thier coats. Keep it simple.

Looks ok to me. My groomsmen and I wore blue ties with charcoal gray suits at my wedding. Looked great.

In my opinion I don't think it would look good, especially outdoors.
