It just refers to what name did you want to give the DVD. It just helps you to keep things organized - especially if you plan to burn multiple DVDs.

Volume label is basically what name you want to use to identify the DVD you are creating. This name ( or volume label ) will be displayed against the DVD Drive when you insert this DVD into your computer and right click on the Start button and Choose Explore Option.

the name you want to give the dvd. it can be left blank or you can give it a name. Like P-Diddy for a dvd with all of his music.

What program are you using? You should be able to leave it at default. Basically, its just asking you to name it something...
