No, I would say that your Lexmark printer is RUBBISH. Sorry. You might buy a Canon printer. This time, try buying a printer for about $110. You see, Canon printer cartrides are about $16 each, where Lexmark charges $30+. You might have bought your rubbish Lexmark printer for $60, but you have been PAYING through the NOSE on cartridges.
I know professional photographers that use the cheaper Canon printers for making PROOFs. They say that the colors are best with canon.
Next time that you buy a printer, CONSIDER the cartridge cost.
Good luck and Happy Computing!

Really depends on what you are printing. If you are printing photos, make sure you use good photo paper and make sure you have a printer that is optimized to print photos as well. Just about any printer can print a photo now-a-days, but not all printers can print as well as others. Do your research, check specs, etc. If your printer is up to par, definitely would check paper issue and try another brand or might even make sure that configuration issues do not exist for printing quality by going into preferences or properties of printer.

You can use any paper, as long as you make sure you specifiy what paper you are using to the printer. I know it sounds mad, but it seriously affects the print quality. It means the printer can adjust the amount of ink used, e.g for very abosrbing paper it uses less so it doesn't bleed, or for thicker paper it uses more ink.
It depends on your printer where this option is found but there is an option in the Print window.

I use Epsom paper on a Canon printer and I found it produces the most photo-like prints. And, at the risk of rpeating what's been said here before, check your printer's settings before proceeding! Good luck.

it may be your printer, but every type of photo paper has a top and bottom, so if you put the wrong side in, then it will look awful for sure. and also there are many different glosses if you are talking photo, so you may want to try a few different glosses, and maybe try a different printer too.

Paper shouldnt make a difference other than some photo paper aint worth a chit! Try some different types, I use matt finish as glossy tends to look trashy. The matt finish seems to hold the ink better.
