Visual Basic 6 is a very old technology - if you're learning you should skip straight to Visual Basic.NET or C#.NET if possible.

Amazingly you can download a much more up-to-date version of VB, Visual Basic 2005 Express Edition, free from Microsoft.

You could try PCWorld. In the branch in Leicester they *still* have copies of VB6 on the shelves!

Or you could download VB.net express from Microsofts site. It's a very impressive toolset.
