It depends. You can buy a 30 GB iPod video for the same price as the 8 GB Nano. They are both $249. The other Nanos are cheaper and the 80GB iPod is more expensive.

but if you want something like which plays videos for around £200 get a archos mp4 player

The largest Nano (black 8GB) costs the exact same amount as the smallest Video (black or white 30GB) at $250. Other than that pricepoint, the Nano is less expensive overall, though you pay a premium for what you get given the reduced functionality and capacity.
