Has anyone had trouble collecting Social Security on husbands account?

We were separated 20 years ago but never divorced and he re-married. I applied for SS under mine and his #'s. His current "wife" is collecting on his account and I am getting the royal-run-around from SS. Meanwhile, I am only getting mine.

How did he legally re-marry if you were never divorced? You may very well have to get a lawyer to clear this up. A lot will depend on the state you live in.
