It never fails, some retarded twenty something wants to try to debate serious issues based on some silly and openly bias comedy based news show. Do they really beleive that this equips them to debate with someoe that has a law degree and compares and contrast all opinions before forming a conclusion. I have to give it to Comedy Central them and the Family guy have really done a good job of spoon feeding liberal propaganda to our lost generation.

The Daily Show is crafted specifically to manipulate the child-like minds of liberals. It works.

It is a matter of presenting a piece of fact then spinning a lot of emotional BS around that fact. Leftists/Liberals are influenced by that game all the time, hence the burgeoning wealth of Michael Moore and MoveOn.org.

Conservatives have more adult/rational minds and prefer actual facts and reason. They don't get their 'news' from a comedy show.

If you don't like the 'liberal' propaganda that you claim is being used by the media, then don't pay any attention to it. Go watch Faux, er Fox News Channel or listen to some talk radio. NOT ALL liberals do what YOU claim we do, besides I watch the Daily Show, but I don't use the stuff I hear as a basis for a debate. Why do YOU think you're any better than we alleged liberals are? How the hell do you know that most of the people who watch the Daily Show are liberals to begin with? Besides, just because someone has a law degree doesn't mean that they're necessarily good at debating. You might want to watch what you say about twenty somethings, especially since I'M a twenty-something and I DON'T attempt to debate serious issues with a things I heard on the Daily Show. NOT ALL twenty somethings are retarded like you claim that they are. If they want to try to debate serious issues based on the Daily Show or the Colbert Report, then I say let them. Who died and let you determine how people should debate serious issues? Are YOU a twenty something?

The simple answer is, you don't. There exist people on both sides of the political spectrum who are SO entrenched in believing in and supporting their political beliefs that they would rather admit to believing in fairy tales than believe the "other side" has some valid points. You can never debate with a radical because they will not grant you a point no matter how basic. I have tried it before, it only leaves you angry and frustrated. You are better off learning Japanese, or some other language that will be useful to you 30 years down the road when people start proposing the Spanish be the national language of North as well as Central America.

The Daily Show is funny. And I believe a serious candidate with good ideas could go on The Daily Show and get a point across, regardless of their party affiliation. If only there were such a candidate....

Comedy Central's liberal take on news appeals to young people, while politicians typically do not. This generational disconnect causes a divide that confuses those who dislike Comedy Central's 'news' and those who like the openly ridiculous political content.

The Daily Show and The Onion are the only news sources I trust at this point. And it's the fault of other news sources for letting that happen.
You can't trust them to do what's right anymore. They've surrendered their privilege of informing the public to the bottom line. To what makes the most money.
The reason why we're Iraq, - our so-called information and investigation sources didn't do their jobs. They just read the press releases from the White House.

Give me Jon Stewart over Katie Couric any day of the week.
Okay - she is cute, but still....

The Daily Show gets closer to the truth than a lot of other media outlets. However, the show is not the only (or even the foremost) source I go to for news analysis. I find out about breaking news on the Internet news websites before reading analysis on the blogs, news magazines and radio. I don't watch as much TV news as I used to. I don't know why exactly, but I don't.

As far as bias goes, all analysis is biased in one way or another, but I also listen to AM talk radio, which has a uniform conservative bias. So I hear both sides of the story.

That is so true. And not just people with a law degree, how about someone who has the ability to reason, and has a clear understanding of current events?
I think there's a lot of young people that do know what's going on, and do not base all there beliefs on Comedy Central, and MTV.

This question assumes that there is a thought process attached to these debates. Most non-informed "twenty somethings" like to argue for the sake of argument, not debate as in a classical exchange of ideas. This would count for why they are more inclined, as a whole, to watch some of the garbage out there and spew out the rhetoric as "facts".

It may be a comedy show, but its still a lot better than that Republican mouthpiece which pretends to be news - Fox - which is only pure Republican propaganda. At least most of us know the Daily Show is comedy. Fox is funny without trying to be.

Well the daily show is still better than anything Fox News puts on.... At least the daily show admits that they are just a show AND does not go around saying that they report the news honestly and truthfully. God I swear Republicians suck!

Some may do that just to annoy those of you who think that Fox News is an unbiased news agency. As for a real debate - bring it on!
