I just did a virus scan on my computer and the follwoing files couldn't be opened:
hiberfil.sys,
pagefile.sys,
Windows\System32\drivers\sptd.sys,
Windows\System32\drivers\sptd2013.sys.
Or can I delete them?
I tried to install a new scanner, but was unsuccessful over several attempts. I'm wondering if these files have anything to do with it.

The other two people answered got it right, for hiberfil and pagefile. I think (I could be way off, though) that the other two are related to windows XP service packs, and are also probably necessary.

it seems like they are the problem. If you downloaded that scanner for a site that isn't really big, I would say that you have a problem. To make sure nothing is wrong with it, download this scanner. Its called Avast. Its what I use and alot of othres. It is named the top best scanner.
1st: Go to www.avast.com
2nd: Go to the top bar and click "Downloads"
3rd: Go to the word "programs"
4th: click "avast! 4 Home Edition FREE Download"
5th: pick what your language is and your done.

Hiberfil.sys - this is your hibernation file. If you turn off hibernation in your power settings this file should disappear.
Pagefile.sys - this is your paging file (virtual memory). Needed
Can't tell you about the others though.

Don't delete those files. Contact the scanner manufacturer's tech support for help.

those are system files, dont delete them!
if you want to know about any file just google it and it will tell you
