You need to use a good quality water based foam leather cleaner. Maxi cleaner if it really dirty.
DO NOT use anything containing oils, waxes or silicones. (Most 'conditioners' contain waxes or oils)
BABY WIPES are THE worst thing you can use on leather as they will destroy the finish. They are very strong alkiline cleaners to neutralise urine (acid) on babys skin so they are not the right thing to use on leather. Our technicians report more damage done by these then any other product.
Saddle soap is too harsh to use on todays furniture.
A lot of leather wipes contain chemicals which will aslo destroy the finish or leave residues on the leather which will damage it. They are not cheap in the long run as you would need a lot to clean a whole leather sofa. A bottle of foam cleaner should do your furniture 1-2 times.
You should also follow this with a good water based leather protector which will act like a 'scotchgard' and inhibit dirt and stains from being absorbed and make cleaning easier the next time.
If the leather has dye transfer from clothing or is very very dirty you can use a stronger cleaner called maxi cleaner which will probably bring it up well but must be used with care as it is a strong product developed especially for this kind of problem.

Use a cream cleaner especially for leather. You apply it with a clean cloth, buff it up, and wipe it off. You can buy stuff from Betterware catalogues, or Wilkinson's stores. The leather wipes available in the shops are OK too

All you need is a clean soft cloth, warm water and Lux soap flakes - honest! All these leather cleaning products do is cause a build up of chemicals which eventually damage the leather. I used to work in the leather industry and if anyone rang in to ask about the best cleaners, Lux was the answer we always gave. Stands to reason really, cows, pigs etc don't spray chemicals on their hide so why should we?

100% just common old baby wipes.
i bought chocolate brown leather sofa 2yrs ago.
to cut a long story short i tarmac for a living and we did store manager a favour by repairing a few pot holes in car park(to get a good discount on sofa)
after doing deal i enquired about leather care products and i quote"dont waste your money on stuff in here use baby wipes they clean and also keep the leather supple as good as anything i could sell you in here!"
another tip not a good idea to put leather sofa to near source of heat ie in front of a radiator.
p.s my sofa is as good as the day it was delivered!!!

Check out your local motor factor for AUTOGLYM PRODUCTS they shift the stable muck from my grand-daughters wellies off my car seats and produce an excellent leather feed. Alternatively visit your local saddlers they usually stock a range of leather saddle products. I have just been informed some of Tescos supermarkets now do saddlery products.
