False, cattle were first domesticated around 7000 BC.

Also, many more "recent" breeds commonly used in the United State for beef and milk production (namely the Angus and Holstein) are breeds first developed in Europe.

I think you're refering to open range cattle farming in America's west. If that is the case, than "False", many of the techniques used by 19th century cowboys were adopted from South American cattle men who, if you trace it back far enough, were Spaniards who developed the techniques before, and especially after, their arrival in the Americas.

Europe, Africa and Asia all preceded America in cattle raising.
