The gauge that says the rpm will dip below one and i can gun it sometimes to get it to stay running but most of the time it will just die. i have brought it to three different places and have paid about $600 only to decrease how often it happens. i bought it from a guy who buys cars from auctions. he had a car fax report and records for all the repairs.

Themain repair repairs was replaced AAC valve. i also think that something was fixed/replaced that had to do with teh fuel injector ( i can't find the bill)

** it tends to happen when i slow down for a light or stop sign. i usually have some troubel getting it started again as well. however, when i'm driving around 50mph, the rpm gauge will start to go up and down erratically and i can feel it.

First measure the fuel pressure if it is lower than specs replace the fuel pressure regulator. If this doesn't help replace the fuel pump. Make sure the you have a recent fuel filter.
Also you can have clogged injectors. You can try to buy a fuel system cleaner and added to the fuel tank or have the fuel injectors professional cleaned. If there are solid particles in the fuel injectors the best thing is to remove then and bench clean them. Although you can dislodge them yourself since the sediments stayed a the entrance of the injector. There is a last chance filter there that trapped any particles that had arrived there due to a defective fuel filter.
A third suspect is the EGR valve. You can take it out and clean it.

Could be a variety of things. Really it's impossible to tell simply over the internet.

What has been tried? Paying $600 doesn't tell me what has been done to the car.

Obvious things to check:
Clogged fuel filter -- Replace Fuel Filter
Dirty injectors -- Get Injectors cleaned
Bad idle adjustment -- Adjust idle

If the car is automatic it can be the sensor and mechanism that shifts gears down when you slow down. If it doesnt your car stalls and turns off. It happened to me when I had a 92 Sunbird. I took it to 3 different repair shops and they couldnt find a problem with the car. One of them kept the car for 2 days, didnt find anything wrong and wanted to charge me for repairs. Mechanic I took it too knew what was wrong as soon as i told him what was heppening so make sure yuo thoroughly explain what it does and when it does it. My recommendation is that you go to a Nissan certified mechanic whos updated. The actual repair cost me $85 and it never did it again.

Try cleaning your throttle body. The butterfly in the throttle might be getting stuck closed and causing the car to stall out.

sounds like your throttle position sensor or your idle control valve or sensor is acting up. the best thing to do is go to auto zone and have the "codes" read. they will do it for free with the intentions of selling you the parts.
