My system wanted a replacement for nicotine, so I drank lots of coffee. I also found that I had to learn to keep my hands still, because you don't realize how much hand movement is involved when you smoke. More benefits than bad things. You can rediscover the taste of food, your clothes, house and all your belongings don't smell like smoke, your breath is fresher and you'll feel a difference in your stamina. I also found less indigestion, headaches. I smoked a pack a day for 15 years. You CAN do this......it was one of the hardest things I ever had to do, but each day is a little easier. By the way, I kept a pack of cigs in my kitchen drawer for a year.....just in case, I had to know they were there. I finally threw them out. You'll feel so much better and be so proud of yourself....I admire you. Stick with it!!

The best thing is that you become a normal human being again and I guarantee it will be the best decision you have ever made in your life. I quit in 1991 and you just stop. About three weeks after I quit, I got sick like the flue. I think it was withdrawls even though I did not mentally crave any. It lasted about 3 or 4 days but not every one gets sick. I have never been tempted to smoke and the only time I ever even think about them is in an occasional dream Good luck you are on the right track. Also with all the public banning of smoking in almost all buildings etc. who needs the hassle.

Once I quit smoking, it seemed as if everyone else started smoking. It was tough for the first few months, but the end result was worth it. I can breath easier and I don't have that pasty taste in my mouth and that smokey smell anymore that I now notice on people that do smoke.

I quit 2 months ago, and I still get the urge sometimes. It seems that I end up catching every cold and sniffle that comes my way right now, because of my body trying to clean itself out. I've noticed that foods taste better and I'm not as winded anymore. I also dont cough like I used to. I do feel alot better than I did.

Got really quick, people pi**ed me, they smoked all the time. Good thing stopped coughing, and it was the end of bad breath.
