for my computer class i needed to go out and buy a USB Flash Drive/Thumb Drive/Memory stick, 128 MB or 256 MB and it couldn't be a U3 type flash drive. When i went to staples I bought a USB 2.0 Flash Drive, 1GB. Will this flash drive that I bought be ok for this class? & what does it mean when it says 1GB? My only concern is that I don't know if the one i bought is a 128 MB or 256 MB flash drive. ugh, i don't know a thing about computers! someone help!

If it's 1GB, that's fine - that's 4 times the 256/8 times the 128 size. So you should be fine.

The drive you bought should be OK, but keep the receipt until you're sure it'll work. Just in case!

And the 128 MB, 256 MB, 1 GB, all have to do with the size of the drive. 1 GB = 1024 MB, so the drive you bought is four times as large as you need. That shouldn't be a problem, though.

Flash drives are a type of memory that keeps its data, even without power.
A 1 GB flash drive has the storage space of four 256 MB drives,
so it can be used for classwork and still have lots of space left over.

Yes. That should work just fine. The term GB means gigabyte which is 1000 megabytes. So if you were looking for a 128 megabyte or 256, then that will def. do the job.

MB and GB refers to how much "space" is available on the flash drive. Files (like music, pictures, documents) all take up "space" on the drive. 1 GB is the same as 1,000 MB.

I'm confident that your drive will be perfectly fine and you should have plenty of space for anything you need to do.

Yes your drive will be sufficient for you class. When you were told to buy a 256MB jump drive, you instead bought a 1GB jump drive. This means that your drive can hold up to approximately 4 times the amount of data that you will need to store. Good for you.

1 gb is about...4? times more than 256...anyways, 1 gb is quite a bit bigger than 256mb or 128 mb

1 GB (gigabyte) = 1024 MB (megabyte), so you have a larger drive than needed. Unless the class requires a smaller drive for some reason you're fine.

I agree that flash drives seem a thanks to bypass. I decrease back up all of my information from the flash force onto my demanding force. If i want a accessible backup at the same time as i'm remote from abode, I both position a replica of the report in my Yahoo briefcase or digital mail it to myself. That way i am going to obtain it anyplace there is internet get entry to.

you bought a 1 gigabyte drive, which is MUCH larger than a 128 meg or even a 256 meg drive. One gig is 1000 meg.
