is an irish man telling an irish joke racist or is it only the non irish who laugh that are the racist?
nobody tells an irish joke better than an irish man!

It usually depends; some jokes are simply funny, but some are vicious and denigrating. I think you would have to judge each situation individually. Good question.

I'm fed of people with no sense of humour telling us jokes are racist!
Take the scandel over the dutch cartoons of Mohammed.
Who decided God doesn't have a sense of humour.
The world would be a better place if we were all Scottish (like me) or Irish.
Take the depication of the Scots e.g. Grounds keeper willie from the Simpsons or Fat Bastard from Austin powers.
You would think we would be outraged and embarrased by these - if we were any other nationality we might well be out there burning flags and effigies and all that nonsense.
NO!!!!!
We love it!! I have never met a Scot who didn't think Fat Bastard was hillarious.
As we say up here "If you can't laugh at yourself who can you laugh at?"

if you see someone say an irish joke in front of an irish and the irish doesn't get angry but laugh with him it is not racist.
but if he gets angry or irritated it is a clear sign that it is a racist joke

Nah i wouldnt say its racist for an Irishman to tell or laugh at an Irish joke but it could indeed be considered racist for a non-Irish person to do the same.

If you are irish and you tell the the irish joke then it's ok, it is still racist but it's ok.

I am gay, and I tell gay jokes. Is this politically correct?? Sometimes, jokes are funny, I don't care who you are. It is in the spirit they are told. By the way, have your heard the one about the, Irish, Queer, Jew, drunk, psycotic, ....... come to think of it, I guess I should stop telling joke.

you cant beat a good 'there was an englishman, a scotman and an irisman..'joke. Each of those countries have their own punchlines and each very very funny. Racist? I believe new labour invented 'positive discrimination' so why not positive racism too!
