How do I get the poke flute?

Rescue Mr. Fuji at the top of the Pokemon Tower in Lavender Town. You'll have to beat your rival 1st, then climb to the top and beat the ghost Marowak(you'll need to get the Silph Scope 1st*). Then beat the Team Rocket members and talk to Mr. Fuji. You'll return to Mr. Fuji's house in Lavender Town. He'll give you the Pokeflute after he's done talking.
*To get the Silph Scope, you have to fight your way through Team Rocket's HQ in Celadon City and beat Giovanni at the end. He'll drop the Silph Scope and run away. Now you're ready for the Pokemon Tower. Recommend you do this 1st.
