What makes truth hard to find are the veils that we have to tear apart in order to find it. These veils are our beliefs rooted in tradition, inherited from our ancestors and followed blindly instead of being investigated personally.
Truth is always logical and scientific that is what makes it easy to see.
In a metaphorical way if we compare truth to the sunlight. It is easy to see but our eyelids - prejudices and blind beliefs rooted in tradition- can hide it away.

Your premise is faulty. It's hard to find because lies are the cornerstones of societies in general. Polite ones, shady ones, devious ones, merciful ones, they all serve their purpose.
Example: Ask yourself "Is seeing believing?" Now ask yourself "What if I was an illusionist(re David Copperfield, etc.) and I wanted to do so by not tricking people?" See the conundrum? This way to the egress. The truth is hard to find because you have to train yourself to see from so many perspectives.

Example:
It's easy to "see" or understand a mathematical principle.
But it took a man or woman a long time to figure out how to make that principle in the first place.
So it takes more effort to figure something out than to understand what that something is if it was shown to you.
