3 boys. a teenager (around 14), a young boy (around 7), and an infant (being held by the teen). all dressed in raggish clothes and bruised and dirty and they asked you if there was any work they could do around the yard for some money, what would you do. would you give them some work to do and pay them. would you bring them in and feed them, hand them over to the police, or what? (this didn't happen to me, just wondering what others would do in a situation like this).

I'd let the guys do some minor work and pay them what ever I had, take them in and give them a nice warm meal. And then, make a deal with them to come back and do this every week. I'd ask them if they wanted the police involved or not before I called in the jerks. All they'll do is break them up in foster homes that are probably no better off than where they are now.

I would bring them in, make them a meal, hopefully give them some clean clothes and the opportunity to shower and ask them what happened that caused them to be in this situation. I would ask them what they would want me to do, call the police, call their parents, school counselor, or maybe their priest. I would hope that a little kindness would allow them to open up and if they are orphans or in some way, unsafe in their current environment, I would hope that Social Services would allow them to stay at my home while things are worked out, if the children felt safe, that is.

I'd ask if he was serious about the work part of it. If the older boy was, I might consider giving him something to do. In the meantime, I'd ask them if they were hungry and wanted a bite to eat. And yes, before they left....whether working or not.... I'd give them some money and food. And advice..... (lol)....on knocking at strangers doors. Allthough, there's probably a parent not too far away.....

I WILL LET THEM IN, ASK THEM ABOUT THEIR CIRCUMSTANCES, AND IF THEY ARE SINCERE, I WILL LET THEM WASH, FIND SOME BETTER CLOTHES AND FEED THEM. I WILL MAKE THEM WASH THE WINDOWS, HELP ME WITH THE MOAN ETC, THEN I WILL GIVE THEM SOME MONEY, SOME MORE CLOTHES TOO. NOBODY HAS TO BE HUNGRY OR IN PAIN!! IF I WAS BLESSED WITH BETTER LIFE I WOULD TRY TO HELP AS MUCH AS I CAN TO THE PEOPLE IN DISTRESS. ESPECIALLY KIDS.
I CAN ALSO CALL THE SOCIAL SERVICES, COS THEY ARE ALL MINORS, AND THEY WOULD PROBABLY HAVE A BETTER CHANCE THAT WAY.

i wouldn't let them in, but i would give them some sort of yard work, and i would take care of the baby in the mean while, i would bring out some sandwiches and something to drink for them. and then call the police.

bring them in and make them a huge supper and let them stay as long as they wanted. i would call child protective services though because i would be very concerned for the infant.
