Would it be possible with the CV carbs? Why, why not? Does anyone have experience doing something like this? Thank you.

Sure its possible with CV carbs - my old ZX7RR ninja had ram air.

Thing is, you are addding more air - so you need to adjust the air mixture. Also, youre talking about pressurizing an airbox...seems not worth the hassle for that bike... You wont gain but a couple of ponies. Instead, spend the money on new exhaust or something that will give better HP increase for the money....

Good luck. The VTR Superhawk is a fun ride!! (Yours is the Superhawk and not the RC51 that comes with ram air, right?? Both went by VTR)

ramming air into a carb is not as easy as just pushing more air in. The fuel to air mixture will be messed up so you will have to play with the settings ALOT to get it to run like you would like.

Yes you can do it but you would have a lot of mucking around to get it going properly and it would be hard to keep in tune, the only reason i would do anything like that would be for drags but then i would use a different bike ZX Kawasaki's do it well
