Channel 4 has become embroiled in a new race row after complaints about racist comments on reality show Shipwrecked. A contestant made offensive remarks about black people, as well as gay and fat people.
If I was fat, Black and Gay, I could not give a damn about what some stupid wannabe/brain-dead moron views were.

It`s time these media people grew up and joined the real world!
No one can tell me that they never hear this kind of remark everyday in the pubs or clubs where they drink with friends - black and white.
We are all - according to the PC-correct/tree-hugging idiots - guilty of some kind of racist remark in their eyes.
It is the people who WANT it to be racist that are to blame - they are the fu**ing idiots.
The media wants to GROW UP!!!

its the media and the government that is racist in my opinion. all they do is show us what thwey want us to think of each race, they want us to think whites are racist. so what do they do, they show black racial attacks and not the other way around. they wanna make it seem like blacks and hispanics are all bad, so what do they do they show us only the negative. in consequence we start to believe what we see!!!

The reason behind the media uproar is not because of the ignorant remarks it is because of the people behind the remarks.
When jade made silly throw awary comments, it was the perception; her upbringing was to blame and she therefore knew no better, but in this case the upbrining of lucy is considered far superior to Jade's but the beliefs are the same and stem from the same ignorance.
Slavery built the british empire, and without slavery it would not have been the strong leading entity it was (past tense). I can bet that if you dig deep enough into ignorant lucy's past, I am sure you will find that the "silver spoon" she inherited was courtesy of the sugar plantations slaves of her forefathers.
Slavery was 400 years of oppression for the better of the colonial empire. Her comment is not one of disimilarity to others whom I have talked with (BNP), if the british empire is to rise again, they need to find someone to do the work for them, as they are not capable of doing it themselves. And that is the reason for her comment.
In a nutshell what she is trying to say is, if we (supposedly pure blood Anglo Saxon british) are to rise again, we need to break the backs of someone else in order to get there, and black people have proved excellent candidates in the past, so why not again!
Racism and prejudice come in many forms, even in 2007, in a supposedly educated 18 year old.

I agree, bit strong burning effigies of jade in the street claiming that race relations are the worst they have ever been, hello what about slavery... oh dear another **** has sparked another race row on ANOTHER reality show. Put the reality shows in the bin and make some decent programmes like the yanks do. ER, Scrubs, Sopranos, CSI etc

That is the way people's minds are thinking these days. And it is going to get a lot worse... just wait until the governement steps in trying to have their say. They will slap a blanket ban on religion. It is a Sign of the Times.
When I was ridiculed at school, I just let it wash off, and got on with important things. People are too namby pamby today.

Racism can only be, if people are of different races, therefore, as people are of different races it has to be! We all like to blame someone, who is the 'but' of your country's jokes? With the English it's the Irish, they don't hate them , It's the way it is! With the Germans it's the Poles, and so on! Racism is a fact, and the more you publicise it the more it will increase in a bad way, Jokes are one thing but war is not an option!
