Do they pay U.S. taxes? If they do, they should have voting rights. That is one of the reasons this country even exists. Remember the "no taxation without representation" thing?

I agree that there is a problem if they are taxed and no representation however if they are exempt from some things (tunagate) and given every right every other US state has I find that a problem as well. You cant pick and choose what rules, regulations and laws you want to obide by and dismiss the ones that you dont. There is probably more to this story that isnt being told...

District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam and the Virgin Islands are all owned by the us. however, as far as i am concerned they do not own the us, not even in part. So, why should they be able to control parts, or even a part of the us? I don't see any good that can come from it.

totally true, all the taxes that they pay, should re-main in their region.
