The evil that can be expected is bitterness. But hopefully by the time you get the divorce that has ended. The other thing is that you might start dating the same kind of person that you divorce. So you need to get a handle on your preference points and don't fall into temptation because of loneliness.

a spouse trying to get even espeacialy in a abusive situation in some divorces but not all

well your credit gets shot, you don't get layed, if you have kids few guys even think about going out with you and even if you don't its hard, you gotta start dating after so many years out of it, aids becomes a issue, your money is short, if you have a bad dream theres no one to wake you up and the list go's on and on. been there done that and not again.

The biggest is your Ex...financial, loneliness, if you've never worked a job, if you have kids single parenting. friends you both have as a couple will be split, in-laws can become a major headache
