Why won't my computer run disk drefragmentation?

It has 17% space to work with

... We need a little more information... to help you with this problem, such as your specs... go to your desktop and right click 'mycomputer' go to properties and on the bottom give us the information like 2.8 ghz and 256 ram etc..

Delete some programs from your computer.
Also, run 'Disk Cleanup'

Accessories
System Tools
Disk Cleanup

it probably has too many things on your HD....delete some of the programs you dont use to free up space and try again...
