My son wants to install World of Warcraft. The only thing is, we know that the Video Card is inadequate. We have an S3 ProSavage + utilities (16MB). Could I install it with this card in place, or should I upgrade the Video Card and then install the programe. The PC is 5 years old. Any suggestions on which card to use please.. ty

A five year old computer is really going to have trouble running WOW. You're going to lack memory, HD space, and processing speed, even with an upgraded video card.

I'd recommend something newer. I know, it's not the answer you're looking for, but overall the big picture, it will be better for WOW.

Just look at the benefits you'll get...USB2.0, WAY faster computer that you'll be able to enjoy using, edit pictures no problem, and all that stuff. Don't need to spend a bunch, get something newer with a budget for a decent video card.

Good luck!!

It matters what the computer has on the motherboard. You would need it to have a AGP slot on-board. If it's a dell, compaq, hp, etc, you could go to their website and look at the specs of the computer to find out if it has a agp slot. Or open the case itself and look at the slots. PCI slots are usually white, while the agp is usually brown.
If it doesn't have a agp slot, then there is no way to upgrade it to run the game.

no you can't play with that card, I think your graphics are integrated, S3 ProSavage is so old I couldn't find any info on it.

You will need something like this:
BFG GeForce 7600 GT OC PCI-E 256MB 128BIT GDDR3 Dual DVI HDTV Out SLI Ready Video Card

Five years old.. it aint going to happen with amazingly good graphics...
Sadly i would suggest upgrading but even then you may not have a compatable motherboard to upgrade all the needed componets.
