Our democracy works like this:
You vote for people that you think represent you best. They are supposed to vote base on how you (the represented) feel. But ultimately, you have no real voice as they do whatever they want when they get elected anyway.

1) This country has never been a true democracy. Take a government class, and you'll discover that pretty quickly.
2) That crazy nuclear Korean guy's name is Kim Chong Il.
3) Bush has not sent 20,000 more troops to his doom. I'm against this war, same as you. If you talk to any troops that are active in Iraq, they'll tell you that they have a hard time controlling areas. They take over an area, but they don't have the troops to keep in that area to retain control. As soon as the troops leave, the area is taken over by angry shiites, sunnis, or terrorist cells. We went in with too few troops initially. If we're going to accomplish anything at all, we need the increase in troops. If we leave right now, the country will be worse off than when we arrived. It will be anarchy, and control will inevitably end up in worse hands than it was previously. In order to keep any world legitimacy, we need to have a positive outcome in Iraq. The only way to do that is with an increase in troops. If we leave now, the world will hate us even more than they already do.
4) The war is pointless, but now that we're in it, we need to finish the job. Leaving now will cause more problems than in increase in troops will.

Bush does have the ability to send the troops no matter what the congress says because the constitution gives that authority to the president alone. Congress is given the power to stop funding for the troops but cannot make troop movements. The reason the Constitution was set up this way was to insure that rapped troop movement could be made. Could you imagine what would happen in a split congress when troops needed to move quickly (bet someone would filibuster).

Having a democratic senate and congress is a start to stopping this madness. BUT we are in such a mess right now in Iraq that a) pulling out will have very bad repercussions (Lord only knows what will move in if we weren't there. AKA Iran moves right in and takes over all those oil fields... or China for that matter. and b) staying there with limited numbers will only get our soldiers killed faster. So c) sending more is the only answer as of right now. Them stupid republicans have gotten themselves into a mess and watch it they are going to try and blame it on the demos later down the road. What this country needs is straight up 8 + years of democratic leadership! Bush's reign is coming to an end. As soon as the congress and senate start clamping down on him. Bush and his administration never had America's best interests in mind either. They just wanted to line their pockets with as much as they could. You know in the old days of Rome, he would have been taken care of by the senate if you know what I mean.... As for your doomsday prediction, I'll get back to you on that one.

Just keep voting for Democrats, that'll overthrow the plans of the Bush Administartion;
We'll lose in Iraq
We'll have more terrorist attacks on the US
We'll be taking our instructins from the dillitants in Europe and the crooks in the UN
The Economy will go down the toilet
Unemployment will go up
Our Military people will become targets overseas again.
Our Military will be decimated by the budget cuts because that's where the democrats always go to fund their idiotic social welfare giveaway programs.
Just keep voting for Democrats and the President's plans will all go down in defeat, followed shortly by the entire Country.

***DEAR FEDERAL GOVENMENT, I AM JUST SIMPLY ANSWERING THIS PERSON'S QUESTION, AND IN NO WAY AM I A THREAT TO NATIONAL SECURITY***
Good thing I got that outta the way, now on to your question.
Well unfortunately, the only thing that will stop this war is the very thing that had begun it. OUR war started with an out cry, an out cry for revenge for the attacks on our soil. Even more unfortunate, we went in under even more false premises than expected. But then again... WE the people are so IGNORANT (Yes, I have to throw you and even myself in there) to every single thing that we come across, without doing ANY kind of self education on the matter, jump to conclusions, and deem whatever "the popular vote" is doing as right.
Look, when war talk started, Democrats were called "communists" amongst many other things for opposing the war. Now you look at it, and all of America is going "WTF is our goverment doing???" And it's sad to say that they are doing EXACTLY what the American people have allowed them to do for so long.
Sorry about the quick rant...but to answer the question, quickly and simply... THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THIS. GET OFF YOUR LAZY @$$ES AND GET ON THE LAWN OF THE WHITE HOUSE AND LET THEM KNOW THIS IS WRONG.
NO MORE DOING POLLS, NO MORE SITTING AND HOME B*TCHIN' ABOUT HOW IT'S WRONG. We were all part of the popular vote, and those who DIDN'T vote him in, and/or BACK in are just as much to blame as the ones who did, because we obviously didn't do a good enough job exposing this man for what he really is!!!

The basic belief of the Asker needs to be re-evaluated.
There's ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENCE between the Democrats and the warmongering Uglicans bacause israel and its lobby AIPAC have a deadlly starngehold on both of them. So, electing the Democrats will have no effect on the war plan, which has been planned and executed by israel through their surrogate, the United States.

If this works, America and the World will be a better place. You know someone had to sail the world to see if it was round at one time. I think you have a conviction about Doomsday that makes you scared.

Bush knows he can do what he wants because the Democrats are liars and cheats too. They already gave him plenipotentiary powers in this regard and find it difficult to retract them. The majority of politicians are liars and thieves. Hillary could lead but only wants to get in the White House. Pelosi is no leader at all.
Doomsday is approaching. You really need to take a break.
If it is hard for you to tell the difference I would suggest you do a Jane Fonda and visit N. Korea. Then, even someone as close minded as you could readily see the difference.

Why do you say 20k will go to their doom, when we haven't even lost that many up until this point?! Your equivalent to the spoiled little kid who come hell or high water wants it his way, regardless of what the parent knows is best for you. Think about the long term consequences of your ridiculous proposal. If your that worried about doomsday, etc. go to the doctor and get some meds. You shouldn't be this worked up or this worried. Its unhealthy.
***Anyone else who feels the way this poster does, please seek counseling. Its unhealthy for one and this kind of paranoia is dangerous.
