Normal is a scairy word. it isn't based on anything concrete when it is used in the context of defining social behavior in the context of biology or naturalness. "Normal" in this context is subjective opinion that can and does change over time and from culture to culture.

Human sexuality is on a spectrum, just as sex and gender are.
So, there is no one form or carbon copy that human desire, attraction, or identity take.

If you yourself find yourself attracted to a person more than another person, it is human, and human is natural. ^_^

An important question to ask yourself is, if someone had said that it wasn't normal, would have tried to alter your attraction in any way? Would what they say alter your opinion of your attractions or of yourself?

Would what someone say, alter the meaning of your attractions or your identity, to yourself?

Why, would you ever give anyone else that much power over your identity?

I'm the Director of Gender Schmender, a gender education community. I am also the Co-Director of Intersexes Are Human.
Former psych major, current sociology major. The areas I specialize in are human identity formation, sex, gender, and how people create meaning, change meaning, and transform social consciousness by creating definitions and the meanings that go with those.

So, if you ask "is there something wrong with me because I identify as bi but prefer one person or sex over another" and I say "No, there is nothing wrong with it" I hope you know that i'm not just giving you an off-the top-of-my-head answer. ^_~

Absolutely. In fact, most bisexuals seem to report preferring one sex over the other (although I've heard from quite a few people that they feel an equal 50-50 split, as well as from those who literally don't take sex into account- they are open to dating whomever). I myself am much more strongly oriented towards men than women, but am definitely bisexual.

Hope that helps!

I think it's normal. I'm bi and I prefer women over men. I think it depends on the point in your life tho I used to prefer men over women. I've only maintained one relationship at a time tho. It all depends on the individual some bisexuals like both sexes equally.

Absolutely. Sexuality is as individual as people are. The bisexuals I know veer all over the place, but all, thankfully (since I'm their friend and want what's best for them), are true to themselves and not what others expect of them. It's amazing really, how different people can truly be.

I've heard that most bisexuals prefer one sex over the other, at least to a small extent.

Yes, but some people are attracted to both sexes equally, like myself.

Maybe this site can help you? If you've ever heard of the Kinsey Scale before?

yeah i think so cuz i am still debating whether i am bisexual or a lesbian. cuz, i would do everything with a girl, but i would only let a guy do stuff on me, and i would kiss/make-out with a guy. but i would do nothing with his thingy cuz those scare me. but dont think of it as labels. just be urself.

Yeah,
one of my friends I though was gay through and through, I found out got laid by a chick.
I never thought that would suprise me, but it did. So he's bi- but MOSTLY gay.

But man that was weird to walk in on him and a chick.
