What you do is wish him well and keep going. He may very well need what you can do for him but, he doesn't love you. He needs you around while he's with someone else. If he really loved you, he would not have broken up with you. If you allow this man to play you like he wants to do, you're setting yourself up for heartache, pain, misery, sleepless nights, being used, tears and sadness and taking whatever crumbs he throws down to you. The best thing you can do for yourself, is to get this man out of your life.

He wants you to be around as a safety net just in case he does not find someone or it does not work out with he is seeing. Don't put your life on hold for him. You might pass up an opportunity to get to know someone who could be the person you were looking for.
Personally speaking, I just went through that. I wasted a year of my life and when I decided to move on I met a wonderful man who possess the qualities I desired and he made me feel like the person I was before I met my ex (a whole person). Furthermore, he has inspired me to improve myself. Sometimes that new person injects into your life the desire that was there and the ex couldn't or would not emotionally support you to achieve. My ex wants me back but I realized that it is not worth it.

Ok first of all, this person knows you probably still love him very much right? Well you are his back up plan hun and I would just break off all ties. What will happen if he gets someone else? What happens to you then? Get away from the problem before it becomes one.

I agree he is playing you. If he needed you and loved you, he wouldn't have broke up with you. I'd show up with a hot guy the next time he wants to be around you. Tell him to kick rocks!

what he's doing is using you in case he needs a shoulder or a prop. is that all you see urslf as?? if he breaks up with you, then move on with your life. and as far as i am concerned i won't even want a boyfriend of that calibre . sorry.

Wow!! Well it could that he realizes he made a mistake! or maybe he just wants to play the field and be with you,too. you have to make the call ! maybe the whole commitment thing scared him??? good luck!!!

i would say hes confused and doesnt know wat he wants and if he intends on playing with ur emotions then u have no tolerance for that and he needs to jus move on because its too emotional for u and u cant be around him and feel the same as it once was
