What you are talking about is the ingradients of a Personality.
Physical, Psychological, Intellectual, Emotional and Social aspects of a person contribute to his personality.
Babies and adolescents are still in the early stages of having a personality. They have to first identify their sex, physically and emotionally. The hormones do the magic. Till such time their requirement are going to be erratic, unpredictable and there cannot be any hard and fast rule about it. It should be considered according to the situation and social behavior. A well cared for baby may not have much physical needs as a baby. A well looked after adolescent may not need any correction emotionally. But the adolescents are the main group of people who need proper guidance as far as these personality matters are concerned; not because they lack them but they are not provided convenient surroundings to learn due to the ignorance of their parents. The elderly, of course, need a full support on all these aspects.

An elderly person needs to remain as physically active as their health allows in order to maintain agility, strength, and to maintain their physical health. Staying mentally active by learning new things, talking with others, playing games and solving puzzles keeps the mind alert longer. Emotional and social health are so important so elderly people who are losing mates, family members and friends at an increasing rate, need to stay active in community and family events by going to senior citizens lunches or exercise classes, finding friends for cards, coffee, or even taking walks. There's a lot of truth in "if you don't use it, you lose it" in all aspects of life at any age.
