"WASHINGTON (AFP) - Some of corporate America's largest companies, including Alcoa, General Electric and DuPont, have urged U.S. President George W. Bush and the Congress to act swiftly to tackle global warming. "

The article goes on to say these companies would like to see the government impose a mandatory cap-and-trade program for carbon emissions - a solution embraced by both John McCain and Barack Obama.

Will this be effective in getting the Bush administration to take action?

Bush has already admitted that human carbon emissions are a major factor in causing global warming - he's just said that it's too inconvenient to try to stop this.

He is a lame duck president, he can no longer push for any issues without credibility. He can sign off bills but he has no desire to do so because of the implications the green energy bills the Democrats are signing. I have also heard that Bush still considers Global Warming an unsupported theory.

It's just another scheme to get what little money Americans have left.

I sure hope not, considering the lack of evidence that carbon emissions are causing global warming.
