What kind of silly statement on his part was that? Of course women usually keep the kids...... the law is bent that way for a reason. Usually it is better for kids to stay with their mother and most any man, regardless of the situation would agree. How many single Dads do you know as opposed to single Moms?
To even say this jokingly where you would ask this question says a lot as to his character. Even if he was 15 he wouldn't say this. It denotes a lack of intelligence, thoughtfulness and a general lack of the slightest maturity as it is simply stupid regardless of the age. If I was you I would be looking at him in a new light.
