They're fun to play with. About the only mid-sized animal that has that ability. Cats are to independent and not really fun. Anything else would be to big for most city and suburban dwellers.
Since thet were one of the first domesticated animals, they must have something going for them.

You never been to Neatherlands (Holland) they love their dogs more. As for humans they have dogs as an extinsion to the family.
Or the make up for the child they dont have.

I love dogs & all pets because they rely on us for so much, not only that they're cheaper than having a kid.

dogs are a mans best friend ,you can talk to them and they listen and trust them not to tell a soul ,they understand you and love you so much
