Odd that you chose the music section for such a question.
I was married to a Christian, and though I don't consider myself a Satanist, (after all he was invented by Christians and I don't believe in their deity, so why would I believe in there nemesis?) they do consider me a Satanist. Solely because I chose to believe in spirituality that predates their religion by thousands of years.
To acknowledge Satan would only give credence to a belief that Jesus is god. A belief I strongly disagree with. I wear an inverted cross not as a symbol of Satan, but as a statement of anti-christianity. Of course that, in their eyes, labels me a Satanist.
In my many years of exposure to Christians, I have come to the conclusion that most are hypocritical intolerant liars. Believe in what I say or be damned to a eternity of punishment. Its a very condescending philosophy. And a very narrow minded and judgmental one at that. They most certainly do not practice what they preach. In fact, most I know have so many skeletons in their closet, they would make truly fantastic Satanist.

I feel like some of them are sincere, and actually have faith that Jesus Christ can save a sinner from eternity in hell. They are the ones that follow the teachings of Christ, and conduct themselves in the way that he instructed them.
Then there are a lot of them that don't have any clue what their religion actually says, where it actually came from, and how it has been used to justify countless atrocities. I don't blame christianity for the actions and words of people who use it as a tool for controlling people through fear, or killing people 'in gods name', but at the same time - it can leave people without a real sense of discernment, because they are expected to accept so much on 'faith'.
I don't have any problem with adults who choose christianity as their belief system, however I do have a problem with teaching it to small children - who accept what they are told blindly, and then will continue through their lives having had this programmed into them at a young age. It serves no purpose, since children cannot make decisions regarding things that they have no way of comprehending.
